There is strength in unity.
Within this brooch I wanted to have a “literal” adaptation of unity within the two hands connecting in the middle, signifying family and the important connections in life. Surrounding this, I united motifs and designs from multiple art styles. Inspiration is drawn from Celtic, Akan, and Rococo. I wanted to connect these art styles together whilst still celebrating them culturally and individually.
