Athnionn ciaróg ciaróg eile. (One beetle recognises another.) Irish proverb

I made a piece that represents the similarities between the Akan craftspeople and us as contemporary Irish jewellery students. The proverb can be interpreted as people of one culture recognising themselves in the people of a different culture. I am drawing design inspiration from Akan gold work and traditional Celtic designs, and placing them on beetles found in Ghana and Ireland. Dung beetles are very social animals and work together on the dung ball in the middle. I am representing the two different cultures mixing together through the two styles of surface texture in this piece.
