'An Foclóir Aitech' is the 1st official LGBTQ Irish dictionary, written and released in 2022. Its publication was the outcome of a grassroots project that worked to address the lack of Irish terminology in the LGBTQ+ domain. The authors recognise that languages change over time and that this dictionary is a ‘working document’ that will keep evolving as the Irish language changes. The Irish LGBTI+ dictionary provides the vocabulary required to represent a wider diversity of Irish speakers.
