Registrar (Acting): Emer Ní Cheallaigh
Role and Areas of Expertise: Emer is Registrar (Acting), Head of the Registration Department. She is a member of NMI’s Management Team and is responsible for management of the Registration Department which includes Documentation, Archives, Library, Loans, Collections logistics, store management, the Collections Resource Centre, as well as the administration and development of the Museum’s collections management database and related digitisation and online projects. Emer leads NMIs Loans, Standards and Strategic Storage Groups and is supporting NMI’s Director of Operations and Director of Collections and Access with NMI'S programme of capital works.
Deputy Registrar / Collections Resource Centre Manager (Acting): Sylviane Vaucheret
Role and Areas of Expertise: Sylviane is responsible for the development and the management of the Collections Resource Centre, which houses much of the research collections in the care of NMI. She is also assisting the Registrar with the running of the Registration Department.
Clerical Officer: Tim Heanue
Role and Areas of Expertise: Tim is responsible for providing financial, procurement and administrative support to the Registration Department, and to provide support to the Deputy Registrar / Collections Resource Centre Manager in the day-to-day running of the Collections Resource Centre.
Collections Assistant: Ryan Koenig
Role and Areas of Expertise: Ryan's role involves assisting in the day-to-day management and care of museum collections and collections information; assisting with the running of the collections’ storage facilities managed by the Registration Department; and to provide a first-class service to researchers and staff. A significant part of Ryan's role is to act as a Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) to coordinate the management of radioactive objects in the NMI’s collections.Collections Moves Project Manager: Eimear Ashe
Role and Areas of Expertise: Eimear’s role is to provide project management to the NMI for collection decants and object moves relating to the NMI’s capital development programme as well as distinct special projects. Eimear is responsible for managing the planning, programming, budgeting and resourcing, project controls, scheduling, coordination, risk management and oversight of a range of projects relating to NMI’s capital development programme.
Collections Assistant: Faith Nolan
Role and Areas of Expertise: Focussing on the Natural History Capital Development project, Faith supports the Project Manager in planning and executing collections' moves, documenting object locations, and managing project data and images.
Collections Assistant: Hannah Preston
Role and Areas of Expertise: Focussing on the Natural History Capital Development project, Hannah supports the Project Manager in planning and executing collections' moves, documenting object locations, and managing project data and images.
Collections Management System Administrator: Catherine Sheridan
Role and Areas of Expertise: The Collections Management System Administrator is responsible for managing and developing the museum’s Axiell collection management system. The role includes development and enhancement of the system, development and implementation of data standards for cataloguing the museum’s collections, online collections, and helping museum users get the most out of the system.
Documentation Officer (Art and Industry): Kate Moriarty
Role and Areas of Expertise: Kate’s role is to oversee the care and management of the Art and Industry Collections, including overseeing all movements of objects, arranging loans and developing the databases used to catalogue the Art and Industry collections.
Documentation Officer (Country Life): Joanne Hamilton
Role and Areas of Expertise: Joanne’s role is to oversee the care and management of the Irish Folklife Collection. Joanne’s areas of interest is database management, collection care through preventative conservation and collections access.
Documentation Officer (Irish Antiquities): Siobhán Malone
Role and Areas of Expertise: To process and manage the information accompanying the objects in the care of the Irish Antiquities Division, including overseeing all movements of objects, arranging loans and developing the databases used to catalogue the Irish Antiquities collections.
Documentation Officer (Natural History): Aodhán Ó Gogáin
Role: Aodhán is responsible for the documentation and management of the Natural History Collection, which includes organising and managing the database, updating location information, arranging loans and collection care.
Documentation Assistant: Emma Crosbie
Role and Areas of Expertise: Emma has worked in the Registration Department for 20 years. She has worked on the documentation of many collections over the years and is now a member of the Collections System Administration Team assisting with the management of the Axiell Collections database.
Archivist & Records Manager: Christina Tse
Role and Areas of Expertise: Christina is responsible for the care and maintenance of historical and current records held by the Museum. Her role involves preserving and providing access to the Archive for various research needs. Christina's areas of interest is archives and records management, digitisation, research and cataloguing records for wider audiences and enriching the museum’s history through its archive.
Librarian: Connie Bettison
Role and Areas of Expertise: Connie is responsible for the management of the library collections held at the Museum, including modern books, journals, electronic resources, rare books, grey literature and other ephemera. Connie's areas of interest include cataloguing and collections management, special collections and modern and contemporary literature.
