Set off on a spooktacular Halloween adventure through the gardens and woodland of Turlough Park this midterm break!

Follow the trail as you search for mysterious locations including Scarecrow Way, Ghost Grove, the Púca Portal and Witches Hollow. 

Pick up a free activity sheet from Museum Reception and follow the trail at your own pace. Answer the trail questions and complete the challenges along the way.

Visitors will experience a few extra surprises along the way from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday and Monday, 25 and 26 October!

Once you've finished, return your completed sheet to Museum Reception to be entered into a free draw for a scare-tastic Halloween hamper.

This free, self-guided activity is perfect for families looking to enjoy the fresh autumn air while exploring the beautiful grounds of Turlough Park. The trail takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Do I need to book in advance?
No. This is a free self-guided activity.

What does self-guided mean?
Self-guided means there is no Museum guide or facilitator provided for this trail. Visitors drop-in at any time during Museum opening hours and pick up a free activity sheet from reception. Visitors then use the activity sheet to read the instructions and follow the map through the Museum grounds. For bookable, facilitated workshops/tours this Halloween, please see our events page.

Is there parking available?
Yes - the Museum has a free public carpark. However, the carpark can fill up at busy times such as the Halloween Midterm. When this happens, cars will not be able to access Turlough Park until parking spaces are available again.

Is this suitable for young children? 
Yes - we recommend the trail for children aged five to 11 years but children need assistance from an adult to read the trail instructions, follow the route through the grounds and complete the activity sheet. Children must be fully supervised by a parent or responsible adult.
