Cruinniú na nÓg - A day of free creativity for young people

Celebrate Crinniú na nÓg at the National Museum of Ireland

The National Museum of Ireland is delighted to announce a day of creativity, discovery, and fun for Cruinniú na nÓg on Saturday, 7 June. 

As part of the Creative Ireland initiative, this event invites young people and their families to come together to enjoy, a wide range of creative activities in every city, town and village across the country.

From the creation of Early Medieval Irish manuscripts to immersive book readings and interactive art workshops, there is something for everyone to enjoy across our Musuem sites in Dublin and Mayo.

Cruinniú na nÓg: St. Gallen Manuscript Drop-In Handling Workshop

To mark the opening of Words on the Wave: Ireland and St. Gallen in Early Medieval Europe and the loan of manuscripts from the Abbey of St Gall, Switzerland, come to the Learning Resource Room and find out about the creation of manuscripts in Early Medieval Ireland to celebrate this year's Cruinniú na nÓg. Cruinniú na nÓg: Celebrating the Children's Books of Mayo Map

National Museum of Ireland, Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co Mayo 

The National Museum at Turlough Park is delighted to host the official launch of the Children’s Books of Mayo Map on 7 June 2025, as part of Cruinniú na nÓg. This event will be packed with book readings, interactive art workshops, and hands-on creative activities - all designed to highlight the incredible artistry behind these books and the creativity they spark in children. Cruinniú na nÓg: Seed Paper Making Workshop
