Reatha: Bruce Barclay

Bruce Barclay was appointed Head of Estates in February 2025. He leads the Museum’s Estates function - encompassing Front of House and Visitor Services, Facilities, Health & Safety, Protective Services and Sustainability - ensuring the museum’s estate is welcoming, safe, secure and well maintained. As a member of the Management Committee, Bruce brings a strategic focus on visitor experience, operational resilience and the safeguarding of the national collection across our four museum sites and the wider estate, including the Collections Resource Centre and satellite storage locations.

With more than three decades’ experience in corporate real estate and workplace operations, Bruce has held leadership roles with Rehab Group, US Bank/Elavon, Dell Technologies, Movenpick Hotels and Resorts, alongside senior advisory and entrepreneurial posts in property, telecoms, and funds management sectors earlier in his career.
