An impressive and atmospheric setting
The domed Rotunda, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, rises to a striking height of 20 metres. Its neoclassical character is expressed through a colonnaded entrance and a series of classical columns crafted from Irish marble sourced from Cork, Kilkenny, Galway, Limerick, and Armagh, creating a harmonious echo between the exterior and interior.
Beneath this dramatic dome, the entrance hall is anchored by a richly detailed mosaic floor depicting the signs of the zodiac. Its craftsmanship makes it one of the Rotunda’s most memorable features, adding depth and visual interest to an already remarkable space.
