Come explore biodiversity on the grounds of the National Museum of Ireland – Turlough Park. This workshop is an outdoor, hands-on, full of fun activities investigating minibeasts and wildflowers with Dr. Karina Dingerkus and the Education team.

Primary School Curriculum – Science (Social, Environmental and Scientific Education)
Strands – Living things
Activity will allow children to observe, identify and explore a variety of living things in local
habitats and environments.
Examples of activities:
• Bug hunts and minibeast identification
• Wildflower treasure hunt
• Pollinator watch
• Nature walk and games
Activities can be agreed with museum staff before the event, and will be age appropriate for each school group.
Some activities will be weather dependant (e.g. pollinator watch).
Children should be prepared to be outdoors in rain, so should have appropriate clothing and
footwear.
