Free
Join our guide Tóla Collier for a special late evening tour of the ‘Changing Ireland’ galleries, focusing on highlights from the exhibition – the everyday and extraordinary objects which reveal stories of the transformation of Ireland over the past 150 years.
Thursday, 28th May 2026
17:30 From Revolution to Repeal: An Introduction to Changing Ireland
19:00 Far From Home: Migration in 20th Century Ireland
Tours are free, no booking required, places allocated on a first come basis.
Meet at Reception, on the ground floor. Wheelchair accessible. Children must be fully supervised by a parent or adult who is in loco parentis. If you prefer to explore by yourself, this an opportunity to discover the exhibitions at a more relaxed quieter time and enjoy the museum shop and café.
Join us for our late opening until 20:00 on the last Thursday of every month, as part of "Dublin by Dusk", beginning 28 May, at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks and Kildare Street.
Explore the museum after hours and discover fascinating exhibitions in a relaxed and atmospheric setting.
Tours and late openings are part of the Dublin by Dusk series of city wide events at cultural and heritage organisations and supported by the Night Time Night-Time Economy Unit of An Roinn Cultúir, Cumarsáide agus Spóirt, the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport.
